The Clarity Curve

Why Waiting for the Perfect Plan Keeps You Stuck

The Clarity Curve: Why Waiting for the Perfect Plan Keeps You Stuck

I hear this all the time:
“I just need clarity before I make a move.”

It sounds reasonable, right?
But here’s the truth most high-achieving women don’t realize:
Clarity doesn’t come first. It comes later.

Not because you’re doing something wrong but because clarity isn’t something you wait for. It’s something you create.

WHAT

We’ve been conditioned to believe clarity is a prerequisite for action.
That before we pivot careers, launch a business, or take on a new role, we need a perfect plan.

So we wait.
For the insight. The revelation. The “right” next step.

But waiting keeps us stuck.
Because clarity isn’t the starting point, it’s the outcome.

WHY

This is what Sahil Bloom call’s The Clarity Curve, a brilliant mental model that I deeply believe in.

At first, the curve feels painfully flat. You take action and… nothing. No breakthroughs. No big “aha.” Just fog.

Most women quit here. They assume the lack of immediate clarity means they’re on the wrong path.

But the flat part? It’s the cost of entry. It’s necessary.

If you keep going, moving, experimenting, adjusting, something shifts. Gradually, then suddenly. A tipping point where clarity grows exponentially.

You start to see what matters. You recognize what doesn’t.
And that clarity? It’s built on days, weeks, months of showing up even when it felt like nothing was happening.

THE HIDDEN TRUTH

The reason this feels so hard isn’t because you’re unclear.
It’s because you’ve been taught to fear the wrong choice more than the cost of staying stuck.

That fear creates what I call The Clarity Stall, a pause that masquerades as indecision but is really self-protection.

But here’s the paradox:
The longer you wait for certainty, the more uncertain you feel.
The longer you wait for clarity, the more disconnected you become.

HOW

So if you’re in a season of uncertainty, here’s my advice:
Start moving.

Take the role, even if it may not be the role.
Start the project, even if it may not be the project.
Make the move, even if it may not be perfect.

The clarity you seek is found in the action you avoid.

As Rumi said:
“As you start to walk on the way, the way appears.”

Start walking. The way will appear.

A Note Before We Wrap

I’m taking the next three weeks completely offline to rest, reflect, and recharge.
I’ll be back in January 2026 with fresh insights and a new issue of AchieveHER to kick off the year.

Until then, I hope you give yourself permission to pause, unplug, and savor this season.
Wishing you and your loved ones a joyful, peaceful holiday.

See you in the new year!
